Glaxo also is assuming $400 million in debt and will pay up to $300 million more in cash depending on performance. Glaxo said it would combine its existing prescription dermatological products business with Stiefel’s. Stiefel makes Duac for acne and lux E for dermatitis and had $1. 5 billion in 2008 revenue. Glaxo’s prescription dermatology revenue was $500 million last year. Glaxo sees pretax annual cost savings of up to $240 million by 2012 with integration costs of $325 million over three years.

All the patients were treated at 1 academic teaching hospital between 1963 and 2007. Most (56%) had a history of direct radiation exposure to the head and neck usually for the treatment of acne or another benign condition. Six percent had direct radiation exposure to other parts of the body; 23% had occupational or diagnostic exposures such as radiographic technicians dental assistants or patients exposed to repeated imaging procedures; 11% had environmental exposures; and 4% had received radioactive iodine treatment. The average age at first exposure to radiation was 19. 4 years and cancers were diagnosed an average of 28.

(FBI photos)The Sterling Savings Bank in the Northgate area was robbed Monday afternoon and FBI agents are searching for the man responsible. The robber described as a white man in his 50s 6 feet tall with a thin build and an acne-scarred face implied a weapon but didn’t show one. He fled on foot wearing a baseball hat and hooded sweatshirt. Anyone with information is asked to call the FBI at 206-622-0460.
